Its always nice when the local newspapers takes the time to feature a local restaurant. It helps build awareness of the local business and the brand. That’s why we were happy that Florida Today decided to do a feature on us.
The article, which came out yesterday, is called “Two years after opening Masa Taqueria in Indian Harbour, owners finding their niche”. And that title sums it up correctly. You can check out that article by clicking here: Florida Today Masa Article
We are the first-of-our-kind of restaurant in our area so it took some time for people to figure us out. It was a learning curve for both the public as well as for us. As the article implies, people are used to the Tex-Mex style of Mexican restaurant which usually involves some sort of shell and meat bathed in cheese. Like the article states “Jones (co-owner) has nothing against Tex-Mex restaurants that specialize in cheesy goodness and bottomless bowls of salsa. But that’s not the kind of place he and Walker (co-owner) wanted to open. And it’s certainly not the type of food executive chef Alex Martinez wants to cook.”
We are very grateful to our customers who spoke to the paper and gave us glowing reviews. Without our customers, we would not be here and we are grateful.
We have found if you put in the effort, use fresh ingredients every time, that the end product will speak for itself. And the creativity coming from our kitchen really gets the customers excited.
If you have not given our restaurant a try yet, please do. We think you will like what you see, and eat!
